Sporting Lisbon 'want Manchester United to subsidise Marcos Rojo wages'

Sporting Lisbon reportedly request that Manchester United pay some of Marcos Rojo's wage if they wish to allow the Argentine to leave Old Trafford for Portugal.

Sporting Lisbon have reportedly asked Manchester United to keep paying some of Marcos Rojo's wages if the defender is to be included in any deal involving Bruno Fernandes.

United are allegedly pushing to complete the signing of Fernandes as soon as possible, potentially this week ahead of Sunday's trip to Liverpool.

However, as it stands, the terms of any transfer are unclear, with Sporting said to prefer a straight cash bid rather than any players being used in part-exchange.

Nevertheless, Rojo remains an option for Sporting, although O Jogo claims that the Portuguese giants are against paying the Argentina international's income in its entirely.

The report says that Sporting are only open to securing a reunion with their former player if United agree to subsidise his wages.

That would likely last for the remainder of Rojo's contract, which does not expire until the end of next season.
