Manchester United's pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Thiago Alcantara has reportedly been given a boost as the player's father believes that he should move to Old Trafford.
Alcantara's father Mazinho, a former Brazil international, feels that his son should opt for the Red Devils over their rivals Manchester City and Chelsea.
The 20-year-old's brother Rafinha is also set to move to the Premier League on loan and the idea of being with his family in the North West makes the proposition of a move more appealing, reports The Mirror.
Alcantara recently captained Spain to victory at the European Under-21 Championship.
