Torino have confirmed that highly-rated defender Matteo Darmian will join Manchester United this summer.
Speculation is rife that United have struck a £14m deal with the Italian outfit to sign the 25-year-old right-back.
Arsenal and Bayern Munich were among those also keen on the Italy international, but Torino coach Giampiero Ventura says that he is Old Trafford-bound.
"It's true, Darmian will play in the Champions League with Manchester United," he told Sky Sport Italia.
"Matteo deserves a top team and always dreamed of playing in the Champions League so now that dream will be realised.
"In these four years we've gone from Serie B and a great depression to the top flight and the enthusiasm of the Europa League. We worked with Darmian for many years and it's only right he should be given the chance to make his Champions League dream come true."
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has already signed Memphis Depay this summer, while Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is heavily expected to follow the Dutch winger.
Darmian, who has 13 Azzurri caps, joined the Turin-based club from Palermo in 2011, having begun his career at AC Milan.
