Report: Manchester United hope to complete Morgan Schneiderlin deal this week

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal reportedly wants Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin to be signed by the end of the week.

Manchester United are working hard to sign Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin before they fly to the United States on Monday, according to reports.

The former Premier League champions have been heavily linked with a move for the Frenchman in this window, and reports suggest that they have already had one offer rejected by the South coast club.

The Guardian claims that Southampton value Scheinderlin at £27m, but United boss Louis van Gaal is hopeful that they will get him for nearer £25m.

The new Premier League campaign starts in just four weeks' time, and Van Gaal is keen to have his squad settled as early as possible during pre-season.

United start against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
