Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Marseille vs. Lorient

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 fixtures, including Marseille vs. Lorient.

Troyes vs. Nice (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Two sides competing at opposite ends of the table meet in Ligue 1 action on Sunday, with Troyes hosting Nice at the Stade de l'Aube.

The hosts find themselves struggling just outside the relegation places after promotion to the top flight last year, whereas the visitors are back on the right track in a Champions League place under their new manager as things stand.

We say: Troyes 0-2 Nice

Factoring in the struggles of the home side with the success of the visitors so far during the early stages of this season, it is difficult to see past an away win for Nice on Sunday.

They should manage to achieve a fairly comfortable victory against their goal-shy opponents, and continue from where they left off before the international break in their search for European football, whilst condemning the hosts to another miserable match back in the top flight.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Bordeaux vs. Nantes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Struggling Bordeaux welcome Nantes to the Stade Matmut-Atlantique on Sunday afternoon as the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season begins to take shape.

The hosts have managed just one win and now sit 16th in the table, whilst their upcoming opponents are safely in mid-table and come into the game on the back of a win before the international break.

We say: Bordeaux 1-1 Nantes

Nantes come into the game in better form but Bordeaux will be aware that these are the kind of games they really must be taking something from if they are to avoid falling into a relegation battle. The visitors are long overdue a draw and that is what we are backing on this occasion.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Brest vs. Reims (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Still seeking their first Ligue 1 win of the Michel Der Zakarian era, Brest welcome Reims to the Stade Francis Le-Ble for Sunday's top-flight battle.

The hosts fell to a 2-1 defeat to Nice just before the international break, while Reims also conceded twice in a loss to another high-flying team in Lens.

We say: Brest 2-2 Reims

Both managers ought to believe that three points is theirs for the taking on Sunday, with Brest continually struggling to perform at home while Reims seek to end a rut on the road.

Les Pirates always know where the back of the net is, but Reims' youthful attacking forces often have a goal or two in them as well, so we can see an entertaining affair ending with the spoils shared.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Metz vs. Rennes (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Metz will be looking to escape the bottom three when they welcome Rennes to the Stade Saint-Symphorien in Ligue 1 action on Sunday afternoon.

Whilst the hosts are struggling down in 18th, the visitors come into the game on the back of a shock victory in their most recent game.

We say: Metz 1-2 Rennes

Metz will be desperate to find that home win, but their leaky defence - with 19 goals already conceded this season - will likely be their undoing against a Rennes side full of confidence after their surprise victory against the league leaders. We are backing a narrow away win.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Strasbourg vs. St Etienne (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Basement side Saint-Etienne will aim to claim their first win of the Ligue 1 season at the 10th attempt when they travel to take on Strasbourg on Sunday afternoon.

The visitors rescued a point in dramatic circumstances against Lyon last time out, while Julien Stephan's side played out a 1-1 draw of their own with Montpellier HSC.

We say: Strasbourg 2-1 Saint-Etienne

The international break arguably came at the worst time possible for Saint-Etienne after taking a point from their clash with Lyon, and Strasbourg are sure to expose their opponents' deficiencies in the full-back areas.

Stephan has not exactly made an explosive start to life back at Strasbourg, but the hosts' season so far can certainly be described as solid, and we can envisage Les Coureurs piling more misery on Puel with a narrow success on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or draw.

Montpellier vs. Lens (Sunday, 4.00pm)

High-flying Lens travel to Stade de la Mosson to take on Montpellier HSC in the 10th game of this developing Ligue 1 season.

The hosts have had a fairly disappointing start to their campaign and sit 13th in the table, whilst their visitors are overperforming up in second place.

We say: Montpellier HSC 2-2 Lens

This should be an entertaining match-up between a Montpellier team who almost always score and a Lens side high on confidence. We are backing a high-scoring draw, which both teams would probably be fairly content with.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Marseille vs. Lorient (Sunday, 7.45pm)

Marseille's Ahmadou Bamba Dieng celebrates scoring their second goal with teammates on September 11, 2021© Reuters

Two sides in the top seven of Ligue 1 meet on Sunday evening as Marseille welcome Lorient to the Orange Velodrome.

The home side slipped to fifth after a disappointing loss before the international break, while the visitors are looking to extend their six-game unbeaten run.

We say: Marseille 1-0 Lorient

Marseille will certainly miss Payet if he is unavailable, but perhaps a change in the attacking third will do the hosts good after their recent struggles in front of goal. We are backing them to find the net once and for that to be enough to return to winning ways.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
