Preview: Mexico vs. Japan
Sports Mole previews the Olympic semi-final clash between Mexico and Japan at Wembley Stadium.

Mexico and Japan will clash in the Olympic semi-finals on Tuesday, with the chance to play for a gold medal at stake.

Neither of the two sides have lost in the tournament thusfar, while Japan are yet to concede a single goal - with victories against Spain and Egypt to their name.

The Mexicans finished top of Group B following victories over Gabon and Switzerland, while they recorded a 4-2 victory over Senegal to advance to this stage.

Japan topped Group D ahead of Honduras, while they scored two late goals to overcome Egypt 3-0 in the quarter-finals.

Mexico made their Olympic football debut in 1928, but they have never won a medal, with this year's semi-final appearance the furthest they have ever reached.

Meanwhile, Japan made their debut in the 1936 football tournament, reaching the quarter-finals before losing 8-0 to eventual winners Italy.

Mexico have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the match, and are likely to call upon Giovani dos Santos to lead their line once more, while Japan are also expected to line up with the same XI that made it to this stage.

Possible lineups:

Mexico: Corona; Jimenez, Salcido, Mier, Chavez, Reyes; Aquino, Enriquez, Fabian; Dos Santos, Peralta

Japan: Gonda; Tokunaga, Ogihara, Sakai, Yoshida, Suzuki; Otsu, Higashi, Yamaguchi, Kiyotake; Nagai

Sports Mole says: 1-2 (AET)
