Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka wary of Charlton Athletic clash

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka believes that his side will have to be at their best in their Championship match against Charlton Athletic at the Riverside Stadium.

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka has insisted that his side cannot rest on their laurels ahead of their clash against Charlton Athletic.

The North-East side dumped Manchester United out of the Capital One Cup on penalties at Old Trafford on Wednesday to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Karanka and his team turn their attentions back to the Championship where they face off against the Addicks, who sacked manager Guy Luzon following a run of nine games without a win, with Karel Fraeye taking charge in the interim.

"Charlton have changed the manager and the players will want to impress him for sure," Karanka told the club's official website.

"They will have been training 100% this week to show him that they can play and for this reason when a team has a new manager it's always extra motivation."

Middlesbrough are fourth in the Championship ahead of their match against Charlton at the Riverside Stadium.
