Middlesbrough have reportedly handed a trial to former Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Ben Smith.
Smith, 25, is a free agent and has also attracted the interest of newly-promoted League One side Swindon Town, according to Sky Sports News.
Smith was released by Shrewsbury in May after losing his place in the first team but could now be offered the opportunity of Championship football as back-up at Tony Mowbray's Boro.
