Millwall make League One playoff final

Millwall have booked their spot in the final of the League One playoffs after playing out a 1-1 draw with Bradford City in the English capital on Friday night.

Neil Harris's side, who finished fourth in the League One table, recorded a 3-1 victory at Valley Parade when the two teams met in the first leg of their semi-final last week, and as a result have advanced courtesy of a 4-2 aggregate success.

The home side took the lead on the night in the 34th minute when Steve Morison made space for himself on the edge of the box before setting up Lee Gregory, who found the corner with a smart finish.

Bradford were back on terms in the latter stages of the first period, however, when Jamie Proctor fired home from close range after initially bringing a smart save from Jordan Archer in the Millwall net.

Arguably the best chance of the second period fell to Millwall in the 52nd minute, but Nadjim Abdou could only sky a volley over the crossbar from close range after a cross from Morison.

The referee dished out five yellow cards in the final 10 minutes as tempers threatened to boil over, but Millwall comfortably booked their spot in the final.

Harris's side will take on Barnsley in the final at Wembley on May 29. The winner will join Wigan Athletic and Burton Albion in the Championship next season.
