Saturday's Major League Soccer predictions including Montreal vs. Toronto

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Major League Soccer fixtures, including Montreal vs. Toronto.

Montreal vs. Toronto (Sunday, 12.30am)

Saputo Stadium will host the first Canadian Classique of the 2022 Major League Soccer season as CF Montreal battle their arch-rivals Toronto on Saturday.

Both clubs are going through a difficult stretch, as Montreal have been outscored 6-1 in their previous two defeats, while the Reds are winless in their last four games, falling 2-0 to the Chicago Fire in midweek.

We say: CF Montreal 2-1 Toronto

Even without Mihailovic, Montreal should not have any problems finding a way through a defence who have conceded the second-most goals in MLS (38) and are not as great in attacking third on the road as they are at home.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Philadelphia vs. New England (Sunday, 12.30am)

One of only two unbeaten teams at home in this MLS campaign will put that streak to the test on Saturday, as the Philadelphia Union host the New England Revolution at Subaru Park.

Philly are first in the Eastern Conference following a 2-1 road victory against Inter Miami, while the Revs dropped outside of the playoff picture last Saturday, losing 4-2 versus New York City FC.

We say: Philadelphia Union 2-1 New England Revolution

Expect the Revs to be in a foul mood after the way they lost their previous encounter, though the Union are well-equipped to handle their dangerous attacking players as they are perhaps the most structurally sound team in the league and, at the moment, are firing on all cylinders.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Chicago Fire vs. Seattle (Sunday, 1.00am)

Two teams pushing towards the playoff places in their respective Major League Soccer Conferences will do battle on Sunday, as Chicago Fire host Seattle Sounders.

A win last time out saw the hosts move within six points of the top seven in the Eastern Conference, while their visitors have just a one-point gap to bridge to seventh-placed Los Angeles Galaxy

We say: Chicago Fire 1-1 Seattle Sounders

Given the differing form of the two sides, Sunday's game seems particularly tough to call, and we see a share of the spoils as the most likely outcome.

The visitors will be desperate to bounce back from consecutive defeats but take on a Chicago side with renewed confidence from their win last time out, and we anticipate the points being shared as a result.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Inter Miami vs. Charlotte FC (Sunday, 1.00am)

Charlotte FC will make their first ever trip to DRV PNK Stadium on Saturday with an opportunity to set a club record for the longest unbeaten run in their inaugural MLS campaign when they battle Inter Miami.

The Crown have won consecutive games for the second time this year, defeating Nashville SC 4-1 last Saturday, while Miami are without a victory in their previous three matches after a 2-1 defeat at home to the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday.

We say: Inter Miami 1-2 Charlotte FC

It may be too early to tell if Charlotte have genuinely solved the issues which have plagued them this season, but they look far more comfortable and poised going forward, which is not the case in Miami at the moment.

Minnesota Utd vs. DC United (Sunday, 1.00am)

Minnesota United FC midfielder Emanuel Reynoso (10) celebrates with forward Bongokuhle Hlongwane (21) after scoring a goal during the first half against the Los Angeles Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park on June 29, 2022© Reuters

As the players of DC United eagerly await the arrival of their new boss to the sidelines, their focus will shift to Saturday when they head to Allianz Field for a date with Minnesota United.

The Loons are unbeaten in four consecutive MLS affairs, currently in fifth in the Western Conference, while the Black and Red scored twice in the final 10 minutes, drawing the Columbus Crew on Wednesday, 2-2.

We say: Minnesota United 2-1 DC United

Rooney still needs a visa before he can be on the sidelines coaching the club that he featured with for two seasons as a player, and should he be available on Saturday, DC will likely get a big psychological boost from his presence alone.

However, the 36-year-old cannot solve their issues on the backline overnight, and facing a team who have come alive offensively like the Loons could spell another defeat for DC.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Colorado vs. LA Galaxy (Sunday, 2.00am)

Los Angeles Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney reacts to a play against the Seattle Sounders FC during the second half at Lumen Field on March 12, 2022© Reuters

Los Angeles Galaxy will aim to keep hold of their playoff place in the Major League Soccer Eastern Conference standings on Sunday, when they travel to take on Colorado Rapids.

Back-to-back defeats have seen Greg Vanney's men drop to seventh place, while their hosts sit 13th in the midst of a six-game winless run.

We say: Colorado Rapids 1-2 Los Angeles Galaxy

Los Angeles Galaxy have been far from their best recently, but, even without Hernandez, they should have the quality to return to winning ways against a struggling Rapids side.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Dallas vs. Austin (Sunday, 2.00am)

Austin FC will aim to strengthen their position at the summit of the Major League Soccer Western Conference standings on Sunday, when they make the trip to take on fellow Texan outfit FC Dallas.

Four straight victories have seen the visitors move a point ahead of second-placed Los Angeles FC, while their hosts sit sixth following six games without a win.

We say: Dallas 0-2 Austin FC

Austin arrive in fine form as Conference leaders, and, against a struggling Dallas outfit, we back the visitors to outclass their hosts and make it five on the bounce on Sunday.
