Morocco want Africa Cup of Nations postponed amid Ebola crisis

Africa Cup of Nations host country Morocco applies to CAF for the 2015 tournament to be postponed because of the ongoing Ebola outbreak.

Morocco have applied for the Africa Cup of Nations to be postponed amid the Ebola outbreak, which is currently affecting several nations on the continent.

The Worth-West African country is due to host the tournament, which takes place every two years, in January.

The qualifiers for the event are still taking place, with Sierra Leone and Guinea, which have both had confirmed cases of the illness, involved.

As a result, the Moroccan government has asked CAF to put the remaining qualifiers and the finals back so that teams do not have to travel to Ebola-effected areas and risk spreading the disease further.

Over 4,000 people have been killed by the virus this year.
