Mohamed El Haddadi reveals Munir advice

Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi asked his father for advice in deciding his international future.

The father of Barcelona forward Munir El Haddadi has revealed that he told his son to play his international football for whichever nation called first.

Munir, who has burst onto the scene with Barcelona this season, was born in Spain, but had been eligible to represent Morocco through his father Mohamed El Haddadi.

The 19-year-old was called into the latest Spain squad, however, and made his debut for La Roja in their 5-1 win over Macedonia last night.

"He asked me, 'Papa, I don't know what to do'. I told him, go with whoever calls you up first," Mohammed El Haddadi told El Partido de las 12.

"Spain called him up first and took him. If Morocco had called first, he would've gone with them. I always told him, whoever calls you up first, you go with them.

"I'm very happy for him. I never knew he'd get this far. I never thought he'd get this far so quickly, but that's how things go and it's great."

Munir played the final 15 minutes of the Euro 2016 qualifier last night.
