Ciro Immobile hints at Napoli move

Ciro Immobile says that he is "pleased" at recent reports linking him with a move to his hometown club Napoli.

Borussia Dortmund forward Ciro Immobile has said that he is pleased at reports linking him with a move to Napoli.

The 25-year-old has struggled following his move to Germany and he made just nine league starts for Dortmund last season.

His lack of appearances in the Bundesliga have led to reports of a return to Italy, and Immobile has admitted that he would welcome a transfer to his hometown club of Napoli.

"Clearly it is pleasing to be linked with important clubs and this fills me with pride, as it means all my hard work actually meant something," he told Sky Sport Italia.

"In a little while, the pre-season training will begin in Germany, then we'll see what happens.

"It's only natural that I am pleased with this rumour. I get emotional at the idea of being linked with Napoli, let alone wearing the club shirt."

Immobile scored 10 goals for Dortmund last season.
