Aurelio de Laurentiis: 'Edinson Cavani could leave Napoli if he wishes'

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis hints that striker Edinson Cavani could leave the club if he wants to.

Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has claimed that Edinson Cavani could leave the club if he asks for a move.

The 26-year-old striker has reportedly been attracting interest from clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain.

Cavani signed a five-year contract extension with Napoli earlier this season but De Laurentiis has hinted that he could lose the player in the next transfer window.

"I have an extraordinary relationship with Cavani," Sky Sports News quotes De Laurentiis as saying.

"He has a five-year contract with us and we will evaluate what to do in the summer.

"If he were to convince me that his story with Napoli is over we'll talk, otherwise he will remain here."

Cavani has scored 25 goals in 29 appearances for Napoli this season.
