Napoli have funds in January

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis promises Rafael Benitez more funds to spend in January.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has revealed that the Italian club have £42m to spend on new signings in January.

The Italian outfit currently sit third in Serie A following a positive start to the season, but De Laurentiis has promised boss Rafael Benitez more funds in the winter window.

"In January, I will have to spend another €50m (£42m) on players if we are to keep competing," he told Il Mattino.

"It is not easy to bring success if you don't spend enough money, and that is something I have to accept.

"It is crucial that we remain in the Champions League past Christmas in order to attract the top players, and Benitez knows that."

A number of new signings arrived at Napoli in the summer.
