The attacking full-back has been linked with a move to Juventus due to his contract being up at the end of this season.
However, Zuniga is due to sign a new deal with Rafael Benitez's side in the coming days, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The new deal will reportedly include a €35m (£29m) buy-out clause.
