Robin van Persie unsure over place in Dutch starting lineup

Robin van Persie has admitted that he is not certain of a place in Netherlands first team at Euro 2012.

Arsenal striker Robin van Persie has admitted that he does not know if his club form will be enough to earn a place in the Netherlands starting lineup at Euro 2012.

Van Persie has excelled in front of goal for the Gunners, but Dutch compatriot Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has rivalled the 29-year-old's strike rate for his club, FC Schalke.

Despite starting his country's 2-0 win over Slovakia last week, Van Persie acknowledges that he faces a fight for his place in the side.

Van Persie told OnsOranje: "I do not know if I am the number one striker.

"Van Marwijk will go for a striker that works well with the middle, and that can be either Klass or myself."

Netherlands commence Euro 2012 with a match against Denmark on June 9.
