New England Revolution have picked up their first points of the MLS season with a 1-0 win at home to Portland Timbers.
The only goal of the game came inside the first minute as Saer Sene nodded in Chris Tierney's cross.
Lee Nguyen had a chance to double the Revolution's lead minutes later, but he could only drag his shot wide of the goal.
Diego Chara fired wide for the Timbers before Kris Boyd should have done better when he missed the target with his header from only six yards.
New England continued to dominate after the break as Tierney flashed his long-range effort high and wide.
Nguyen had another chance saved by Troy Perkins, but it was of little consequence as the home side held on for a valuable three points.
