The FA will assess television footage and the referee's report before making a decision over an incident involving Brighton's Tomer Hemed and Newcastle's DeAndre Yedlin.

The Football Association has reportedly decided to assess television footage and the referee's report before deciding whether to punish Brighton & Hove Albion forward Tomer Hemed.

During the latter stages of the Premier League fixture at the Amex Stadium, Hemed appeared to stamp on the calf of Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin, an incident which was missed by the officials.

Whether the stamp was intentional or not is open to interpretation, and the FA has decided not to rush into making a call as to whether the striker should face retrospective action.

After viewing a replay of the incident after the full-time whistle, Brighton boss Chris Hughton claimed that the stamp was unintentional.

Earlier in the contest, Hemed scored the only goal of the game as Brighton recorded their second victory in this season's top flight.
