Steve McClaren: Newcastle United to "mix things up" against Watford

Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren admits that he intends to "mix things up" against Watford in the Premier League.

Steve McClaren has revealed that he plans to "mix things up" as Newcastle United continue to search for their first win of the Premier League season.

The Magpies sit bottom in the table after picking up just two points from their opening five fixtures ahead of their match against Watford at St James' Park tomorrow.

The manager told the club's website: "We need to mix things up, absolutely. We have a good squad with good individuals but we still don't know our best team yet.

"We need to progress and create more. Certain individuals can't play at 100% all of the time so you see some below par performances, so sometimes you need to change things and test the strength of the squad.

"You can't afford to take a day off in the Premier League so no-one is guaranteed a start."

Newcastle lost 2-0 in their match against West Ham United earlier this week.
