Alan Pardew: 'We dominated the match'

Alan Pardew believes that his Newcastle United side deserved to take all three points against Aston Villa this afternoon.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has claimed that his side "dominated" their 1-1 draw with Aston Villa this afternoon.

The visiting Magpies fell behind to a strike from Gabriel Agbonlahor, before Leon Best secured his side a share of the spoils.

Despite being happy with the point, Pardew has insisted that his team deserved more.

"I thought we dominated for so long," Pardew told Sky Sports News. "We had control and after we scored it only looked like us that was going to win it.

"We looked like a side that was fourth in the division today which is good."

Newcastle are unbeaten so far this season.
