Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew admits that he wants to give the club's supporters something to cheer about before the end of the season.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has insisted that his side will show no complacency when they face Arsenal on Sunday.

The Magpies secured their Premier League status last weekend with victory over Queens Park Rangers, but Pardew has revealed that he is eager to secure three points over the Gunners to send his side's supporters home happy after a turbulent campaign.

The 51-year-old told the Newcastle Chronicle: "When we drew 4-4 we saw some electrifying play that day - we want that level of excitement again.

"Without the mood swing of course. We want to get a result this time, and we need to send our fans home in a better mood than the last two games. It was a huge lift, not just for the players, but just as importantly the staff, with us being safe.

"Now we can really focus on one game. We can play without any inhibitions, unlike against Liverpool. That's important. We want to win the game for our fans, who have been magnificent."

Newcastle could finish as high as 10th position with a win on Sunday.
