John Carver: 'I will not resign'

Newcastle United boss John Carver insists that he will not give up on his role at the club after coming under fire for recent results.

John Carver has insisted that he will not quit his role as manager of Newcastle United.

The 50-year-old has won just two of his 14 games in charge of the Magpies since taking the reins in January following Alan Pardew's departure for Crystal Palace.

Carver has come under fire from some supporters who are fearful that their side will be sucked into a relegation battle, but the Newcastle boss is adamant that the club will be safe under his guidance.

"The one thing about me is I'm not a quitter. I will drive on," he told The Chronicle.

"We now have six cup finals, let's be honest, it's four at home and two away. We need to pick up some points."

Newcastle are nine points clear of the Premier League drop zone ahead of facing Tottenham Hotspur this Sunday.
