Jack Colback: 'Supporters deserve more from Newcastle United'

Jack Colback believes that Newcastle United supporters deserve more from the team following their recent run of poor results.

Jack Colback has claimed that Newcastle United owe the supporters a strong finish to the season following their recent weak form.

Another poor end to a Premier League campaign has seen the Magpies lose five successive games, but Colback does believe that the team showed signs of improving in Monday's loss to Liverpool a week after slipping to a 1-0 defeat in the Tyne-Wear derby.

"This is a huge club which deserves more than it is getting at the moment," the midfielder told reporters. "It's a difficult situation we're in - we've not got a lot of players.

"The minimum we could do was to be better than our last game. We had to show a reaction.

"The character is there in the team even if we didn't show it last week."
