Inter Milan have reportedly decided to rival Newcastle United for Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet.
The Belgian linked up with Sampdoria in 2016, making a total of 61 appearances in Serie A over the course of the last two seasons.
The Magpies have allegedly taken an interest in the 24-year-old but according to Calciomercato, Inter have identified Praet as a top target.
As it stands, Inter have to sell players in order to generate transfer funds and to meet FFP rules, but the Italian giants are said to be willing to do that to maintain a chance of bringing in Praet.
The player still has just over three years remaining on his contract and has previously been linked with a switch to Juventus.
