Nantes winger Anthony Limbombe has reportedly emerged as a transfer target for Newcastle United.
The Magpies have been heavily linked with a club-record move for Miguel Almiron over the past 24 hours, and a deal for the Atlanta United playmaker is expected to go through on Thursday.
However, according to Tuttomercatoweb, manager Rafael Benitez is also being allowed to bring in Limbombe on loan for the rest of the campaign.
The North-East giants were in the running to sign Limbombe during the summer, but the Belgium international instead opted to sign for Nantes.
The 24-year-old has failed to settle in Ligue 1 over the past five months, with just six starts and 10 substitute outings being made in France's top flight.
Newcastle will likely choose to push through at least one outgoing in order to accommodate the new arrivals.
