Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news and rumours, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin to Newcastle United, Federico Gatti to West Ham United and Teden Mengi to Nice.

Newcastle United are reportedly still interested in signing Everton attacker Dominic Calvert-Lewin during this summer's transfer window.

The 27-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Goodison Park, and there is currently widespread speculation surrounding his future.

Newcastle were linked with Calvert-Lewin earlier this summer but are believed to have dropped their asking price after learning of Everton's demands when it comes to a fee.

According to Football Insider, Newcastle are still attentive to the situation, with the Magpies interested in signing the forward before the transfer window closes.

Calvert-Lewin scored eight goals and registered three assists in 38 appearances for Everton during the 2023-24 campaign.

Everton are believed to value the forward, who has scored 68 goals and registered 18 assists in 247 appearances for the Toffees, in the region of £40m.

West Ham 'locked' in battle for Gatti

Meanwhile, according to Tuttosport, West Ham United are locked in a battle with Newcastle and Everton to sign Juventus centre-back Federico Gatti this summer.

The 26-year-old made 36 appearances for Juventus during the 2023-24 campaign, including 32 outings in Serie A, but his future is currently being called into question.

West Ham are said to be determined to sign the defender, but the Hammers are facing competition from Premier League rivals Newcastle and Everton.

The report claims that Gatti is 'highly appreciated' in England, and the three-time Italy international could be on his way to the Premier League during the summer transfer window.

Gatti has made 63 appearances for Juventus since arriving at the Old Lady in 2022.

Nice 'keen' on summer deal for Luton's Mengi

Elsewhere, Nice have allegedly identified Luton Town centre-back Teden Mengi as a possible replacement for Jean-Clair Todibo during this summer's transfer window.

Todibo is set to leave the French giants in the current market, with Juventus thought to be at the head of the queue for the defender, who saw a potential move to Manchester United blocked earlier this summer.

According to Footmercato, Nice are interested in Mengi, with the centre-back potentially available for around €14m (£11.8m) this summer.

Fulham are also said to be tracking the 22-year-old, who made 35 appearances for Luton last season, including 30 outings in the Premier League.

Mengi came through the youth system at Man United and went on to make two first-team appearances for the Red Devils before his permanent switch to Luton.
