Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is reportedly ready for a return to the Premier League, with former club Newcastle United a likely destination.

Paris Saint-Germain's Georginio Wijnaldum has reportedly been linked with a move back to the Premier League, re-joining Newcastle United.

The Ligue 1 giants beat Barcelona to Wijnaldum's signature in the summer, with manager Mauricio Pochettino a big influence in the former Liverpool midfielder's decision to move to the French capital.

Wijnaldum has featured 20 times for PSG so far this season, contributing three goals and one assist, but it is believed that the Dutch international has expressed his desire to return to the Premier League.

According to Spanish outlet As, Newcastle have been the first side to show an interest in signing Wijnaldum and discussions between the player's agent and club have already started.

The 31-year-old spent one season at St James' Park during the 2015-16 campaign, when he netted 11 goals and provided five assists in 38 Premier League games.

Wijnaldum would return to the Magpies with a wealth of Premier League experience now under his belt, having played 237 times for Liverpool, during which time he won the English league title.
