John Ruddy expresses his delight

Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy admits that he "can't wait to get started" after being named in England's Euro 2012 squad.

Norwich City goalkeeper John Ruddy has admitted that his England Euro 2012 call-up is "surreal".

The uncapped 25-year-old has also revealed that he tied the knot with his fiancé before joining up with the squad.

"It's all a bit surreal and hasn't really sunk in. The Norwich lads had a night out and I was feeling a bit worse for wear when I got the call. That's why it took a while to sink in. I can't wait to get started," Ruddy told reporters.

"I'm due to get married on 2 June (when England play Belgium). I've already had the conversation and they don't want me to call it off. So I'm still going to get married and then link up with the squad after that."

Ruddy made 28 Premier League appearances this season.
