It was reported on Monday morning that the Canaries were close to sealing a deal for the 30-year-old Argentine midfielder.
"There is an interest in Jonas Gutierrez but there's nothing to confirm at this moment," Hughton told reporters. "If that changes, we will let you know."
Gutierrez has 18 months remaining on his current contract with Newcastle.
