Alex Neil keen to add striker

Norwich City boss Alex Neil reveals that he is looking to sign a striker before the loan window closes.

Norwich City manager Alex Neil has conceded that he would like to add a new centre-forward to his squad.

Lewis Grabban recently underwent ankle surgery and Luciano Becchio is not currently in Neil's plans, meaning that Gary Hooper and Cameron Jerome are the only senior strikers available for selection.

As a result, the Scot has revealed his desire to bolster his attacking options, although he admitted that it could be tough to get a deal concluded before the loan window closes on March 26.

"I think it would be fair to say if we could add another striker it would help, but it's not easy. There are limited places you can go to get one," he told reporters.

"No-one in the top flight, certainly in the bottom 10, is going to let their strikers out because the one thing you tend to find with those teams is they lack goals so they want to keep hold of them. The guys at the top end, whether they want to come here is another story if they are going for the ultimate prizes.

"We are in a tough situation in the sense how many are out there and available that are better than what we have here and will add something different? We have a real strong squad this level."

The Canaries were recently linked with a move for former Ipswich Town frontman Jordan Rhodes, who currently plays for Blackburn Rovers.
