Norwich City reportedly have no plans to cash in on the signature of in-demand winger Jonathan Rowe during the January transfer window.

Norwich City reportedly intend to retain the services of Jonathan Rowe until at least the end of the season.

After a disappointing first campaign back in the Championship, the Canaries are hoping to secure at least a playoff spot in David Wagner's first full season in charge.

As it stands, the German can be relatively satisfied with his team's start to the season, with a total of 17 points being accumulated from 11 matches to leave them in seventh position in the standings.

Norwich currently possess the third-best attacking record in the division, largely helped by the performances of academy graduate Rowe.

The 20-year-old has started each of the East Anglian's outfit league fixtures, contributing six goals and one assist with each of those goal contributions coming in separate matches.

Furthermore, Rowe has been deployed in a number of different roles and still impacted on matches, only strengthening his value to Norwich on and off the pitch.

Rowe was subsequently rewarded with a call up to the England Under-21s squad, making appearances against Serbia and Ukraine over the international break.

However, according to Football Insider, that will be the extent of mixing it with Premier League company during the 2023-24 campaign.

Norwich officials are allegedly not prepared to entertain selling their most prized asset during the next transfer window as they bid to maximise their chances of earning promotion.

A number of clubs are said to be monitoring the situation, including Aston Villa who may be in the market for a new creative player at the turn of the year.

The report adds that Crystal Palace are also interested in adding Rowe to their ranks, yet it appears that they may have to wait until the summer to have an opportunity to win the race.

Nevertheless, Rowe's contract at Carrow Road is due to expire in 2025, leaving Norwich vulnerable to lower offers next summer if they do not consider substantial bids when business next reopens in 2024.

Injury has restricted Rowe to 31 senior appearances for Norwich, who are expected to need to earn promotion to the Premier League to provide them with a realistic chance of retaining Rowe's services in the long term.
