Frank Clark named new Nottingham Forest chairman

Frank Clark is named as the new chairman of Nottingham Forest.

Frank Clark has been named as the new chairman of Nottingham Forest.

The 67-year-old, who enjoyed success as both a player and manager at the City Ground, accepted outgoing chairman Nigel Doughty's offer to succeed him on Wednesday.

"Frank Clark has today accepted Nigel Doughty's invitation to succeed him as chairman of Nottingham Forest with immediate effect," read a statement on the club's official website.

"Clark has the unique distinction of not only having played for the club - and won league championship and European Cup winners' medals - but also to have enjoyed great success as manager of the Reds."

Clark's first task will be to find a new manager after Steve McClaren's resignation on October 2, although Steve Cotterill is reportedly in talks with the club over the vacant manager's position.
