Stuart Pearce: 'Kelvin Wilson will get stronger'

Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce believes that Kelvin Wilson will only get stronger after recovering from back and calf injuries.

Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce has expressed his belief that Kelvin Wilson is only going to get stronger after recovering from injury.

The defender returned to the City Ground from Celtic in July 2013 but missed the majority of last season with back and calf problems.

Wilson has made six appearances for the Reds so far this season, and Pearce hopes that the centre-back will continue his resurgence in form.

"From what I have seen, game by game, he is getting better, he is getting more athletic, more confident within himself," Pearce told the Nottingham Post.

"I think he is a leader in the group and I have been impressed. In pre-season, he looked very immobile, if I am honest. The injuries had caught up with him a little bit. There was a lack of fitness.

"But he has improved with every game, he has really impressed me. He has been a real bonus for us."

Forest travel to Cardiff City on Saturday.
