Preview: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Nottingham Forest

Sports Mole looks ahead to the Capital One Cup third-round match between Tottenham Hotspur and Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to end a run of four matches without a win when they host Nottingham Forest in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday.

Spurs suffered their second home defeat in a row in the Premier League on Sunday when they were beaten 1-0 by West Bromwich Albion.

Facing a third outing in six days, Mauricio Pochettino is likely to make a string of changes for the match, having rested the likes of Harry Kane and Ben Davies at the weekend.

However, Andros Townsend's involvement remains in doubt, after he missed the defeat to West Brom with a dead leg.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest's bright start to the season leaves them at the top of the Championship table ahead of their visit to White Hart Lane.

The visitors have won five of their last seven matches in all competitions, but head into this match off the back of a goalless draw with Millwall.

Stuart Pearce has the league's top goalscorer, Britt Assombalonga, to call upon, while Kelvin Wilson and David Vaughan, who both returned from injury at the weekend, could get some more match time.

Both clubs have previously lifted the League Cup four times.
