Salvatore Aronica believes that next weekend's clash with Genoa is a must-win game in the battle for survival.

January Palermo signing Salvatore Aronica has highlighted Sunday's clash with Genoa as a must-win if his new side are to stay in Serie A.

Palermo's 1-1 draw at Chievo at the weekend has left them six points adrift of safety, with Genoa occupying the 17th spot.

Aronica has made it clear that should Palermo not win then survival looks very unlikely.

"With [Sunday's] results we know that we need to win the next game against Genoa, ANSA quotes Aronica as saying. "It's the last chance to get back in the race for survival.

"We must win and we'll see what happens. The team believes."

Aronica has made six appearances for Palermo after joining at the start of January.
