Preview: Brisbane Roar vs. Perth Glory - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Sunday's Australian A-League clash between Brisbane Roar and Perth Glory, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Perth Glory will look to end their four-game winless run in the A-League when they travel to the Suncorp Stadium on Sunday to take on Brisbane Roar.

The hosts, meanwhile, will try to avoid consecutive defeats to the Glory this season, having been beaten 3-1 at HBF Park in February's reverse fixture.

Brisbane Roar ended their eight-game winless run with a 2-1 win over Macarthur at the Campbelltown Stadium two Fridays ago.

This was quickly followed by another 2-1 win at Western Sydney Wanderers last time out as the Roar claimed consecutive victories for the first time since early February.

Bruce Kamau cancelled out Josh Brindell-South's opener in the 23rd minute, but in-form forward Riku Danzaki struck just before the break to hand Warren Moon's men their sixth win of the season.

Brisbane Roar have now picked up 23 points from 15 games and are seated in eighth place in the A-League table.

They are currently two points adrift of the playoff places, but considering they have played the fewest number of games so far, they will surge up the table should they win all of their outstanding games.

On the other hand, Perth Glory failed to return to winning ways as they were defeated on home turf by Wellington Phoenix on Sunday.

In a game where the hosts dominated proceedings, they were made to rue their lack of cutting edge in the final third as the visitors took their chances to claim a 3-1 win.

Richard Garcia's men remain 12th in the league, having picked up just six points from their most recent 10 games.

However, they head into this tie unbeaten in their last three meetings with Brisbane Roar and will hope they can continue this run to kick-start their rise up the standings.

Team News

Moon has a full squad to select from as he faces no injury or suspension concerns.

Twenty-year-old Japanese forward Riku Danzaki has scored in each of the Roar's last three games and is one to watch out for in this tie.

Meanwhile, Perth Glory will be without the services of Nicholas D'Agostino, who is out with a hamstring injury.

Sebastian Langkamp is also ruled out of this tie as he returned to the sidelines after picking up a groin injury in the 1-0 loss to Sydney FC on April 7.

The German-born defender, who has endured an injury-hit campaign since joining from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, has made only two appearances for the visitors this season.

Although he has five assists to his name, Andy Keogh is yet to open his scoring account for Perth Glory, and considering their lack of goals in recent weeks, he could be dropped on Sunday.

Brisbane Roar possible starting lineup:
Young; Neville, Aldred, Gillesphey; Brindell-South, O'Shea, Akbari, Brown; Danzaki, Wenzel-Halls, Champness

Perth Glory possible starting lineup:
Reddy; Geria, Aspropotamitis, Lachman, Ota; Chianese, Timmins, Kilkenny, Armiento; Fornaroli, Keogh

We say: Brisbane Roar 2-1 Perth Glory

Perth Glory have struggled to perform this season, particularly on the road, and considering Brisbane Roar's rejuvenation, they are currently the better side. We back the hosts to claim the win and break into the top half of the table.
