Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry reveals that striker Dwight Gayle has received more transfer interest than any other player in the history of the club.

Peterborough United director of football Barry Fry has insisted that striker Dwight Gayle will not leave the club unless they receive a "ridiculous amount of money".

Gayle impressed for Peterborough last season, despite the club's relegation to League One, and Fry has revealed that he has been inundated with interest from other clubs for the 22-year-old.

Fry told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "There has never been the interest in one single Peterborough player as there has in Dwight Gayle.

"Everybody at this club loves him. Unless we get a ridiculous amount of money, I think he'll stay."

The former Dagenham & Redbridge striker scored 13 goals in 29 appearances last season.
