Clint Hill ready to battle for survival

Clint Hill thinks that if QPR survive the drop into the Championship it will be "one hell of a season".

Queens Park Rangers defender Clint Hill has recognised that the West London side have a tough task of trying to stay in the Premier League.

Mark Hughes's side dropped into the relegation zone following a 2-1 defeat to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

QPR's fortunes could have changed at the Reebok Stadium if an 18th-minute goal courtesy of a Hill header was allowed after being ruled out, despite video footage proving the ball crossed the goal line.

"Every little thing seems to be going against us at the moment," the Daily Mail quotes Hill as saying. "If that [disallowed goal] had counted, it would have kick-started our game. We would hopefully have gone on to get a few more goals.

"Will it cost us our Premier League place? You look at everything that happens, every decision, every mistake and you can't help thinking 'If only that had gone our way'.

"The league table doesn't lie and we haven't been good enough for whatever reason. But breaks like that mean we're going to have to do it the hard way now. We've got some big teams coming up, and if we do manage to escape, it will be one hell of a season."

QPR's next Premier League game is a home fixture to Liverpool next Wednesday.
