Harry Redknapp says that Queens Park Rangers must pull together if they are to avoid relegation this season.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that his side are "in a mess" following their poor start to the season.

Despite a goalless draw at Sunderland in the new boss's first game in charge, the Hoops remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table.

However, the result gave QPR their first point in five games, and Redknapp believes that the club has to stick together if they are to recover from their bad start.

"We are in a mess, let's be honest, and we all need to pull together if we're going to get out of it," Redknapp told talkSPORT.

"The only way out of it is to work hard and they did, they grafted. We did well, there were some real positives from the game. Certain parts of the team looked strong, we looked strong in midfield, we defended well when we had to and we had a couple of great chances to win the game.

"Overall I couldn't be more pleased, it was important to not get beaten."

QPR host Aston Villa in their next match on Saturday.
