Harry Redknapp has said that Adel Taarabt could be an "incredible footballer" if he focuses on his fitness.
The Queens Park Rangers manager described the midfielder as three stone overweight earlier this week, a claim which has been refuted by the Morocco international.
Redknapp told reporters: "I'm out on that training ground every single day. Anyone who says I'm not out there every day, that is a lie. But I don't hold grudges. I've always been a manager where people go 'you do love a problem player'. Yes, I have.
"The big difference is the ones I've had before keep producing on the pitch. Adel needs to produce. He could be an incredible, incredible footballer for this football club.
"No-one would be more pleased if he gets himself fit, gets back in the team, has a fantastic run, sticks two fingers up to me, I'd be delighted. I love people with ability, I love people with talent. I just want him to get back to showing us what he can do."
QPR face Aston Villa in the Premier League on Monday evening.
