Ray Wilkins believes that the players need to take some of the responsibility for Neil Warnock's sacking as QPR manager.

Former Queens Park Rangers manager Ray Wilkins believes that the players should take some of the responsibility over Neil Warnock's sacking.

The 63-year-old was dismissed on Sunday night with the newly-promoted side 17th in the Premier League table.

"It's about time some players actually stood up and acted like men and got out there and performed," Wilkins told talkSPORT.

"A manager can only do so much, the players have to go and perform. Players have to stand up as soon as they cross that white line and they have to perform."

Mark Hughes has been tipped as the early favourite to succeed Warnock at Loftus Road.
