The 29-year-old is well known to Harry Redknapp following their time together at Portsmouth.
According to The Mirror, Lokomotiv are looking to sell Diarra due to his weekly wages of £80,000.
It is believed that QPR are keen on a deal, but they are unwilling to pay the Frenchman more than £40,000 a week.
Diarra has previously played for Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid.
