Queens Park Rangers to offer Charlie Austin 'huge new deal' if he stays put

Queens Park Rangers are reportedly planning to offer Charlie Austin a big-money contact extension if his asking price is not met.

Queens Park Rangers will reportedly offer striker Charlie Austin a lucrative new contract if he remains at Loftus Road.

The forward, who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, will be handed a "huge new deal" if his £15m asking price is not met, according to the Daily Star.

"Everyone feels that bids are going to come in for him, it's just a matter of when," said QPR director of football Les Ferdinand. "But if a club doesn't pay the fee, then we will offer him a new contract to get him to stay.

"We are now into the season and want to settle our side down as quickly as possible. We are now into the season. It's not good for the club, it's not good for Charlie - it's not good for anyone."

Leicester City are believed to have had a £12m offer for Austin rejected.
