Sepp Blatter thinks that he has apologised enough for his comments regarding racism in football.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter believes that the issue surrounding his controversial comments regarding the handling of racism is now "closed".

The 75-year-old sparked outrage after he stated that racist remarks on the field of play can be solved with a handshake.

The comments urged individuals in the world of football to call for Blatter's resignation. However, the German businessman believes that it's time to draw a line under the issue.

"I can only say this item for me is closed," said Blatter.

"There is no tolerance of racism, I have been interpreted as such and I have made my apologies. I cannot say anything more."

The head of the governing body has landed himself in hot water a number of times throughout the years.
