Rangers manager Ally McCoist remains hopeful that off-field issues at the club can soon be rectified.
Reports emerged earlier this week suggesting that Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley could invest in the Gers in the wake of director Philip Nash's recent resignation.
Following his side's comfortable 3-0 victory against Dumbarton, McCoist was quick to welcome the news.
"I have said all along investment for the club would be required," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "That hasn't changed. Hopefully we will get investment at some point."
Rangers are currently second in the Scottish Championship table, six points adrift of leaders Hearts.
