Rangers' 12-month transfer embargo will be reconsidered following a court hearing in Edinburgh today.

The 12-month transfer embargo issued by the Scottish Football Association to Rangers will be reconsidered following a court hearing in Edinburgh today.

The former SPL champions could have the transfer ban reduced after a court ruled that the initial sanction will be sent back to the appeal tribunal from April.

The Gers took the issue to the Court of Session in Edinburgh to argue that the embargo was an unlawful sanction, with the Glasgow-based outfit calling for the ban to be reduced or given back to the SFA disciplinary panel.

The Scottish governing body stood by the original decision, claiming that the embargo was worthy following Rangers' fall into administration in February.
