The Scottish Football Association charge Rangers and club owner Craig Whyte for allegedly breaking five disciplinary rules.

The Scottish Football Association have charged Rangers and club owner Craig Whyte for alleged breaches of disciplinary rules.

The struggling club have been served another blow as they continue to force their way out of administration.

The governing body have made the SPL champions aware that they are facing five charges of bringing the game into disrepute and not acting within the best interests of the game.

The Gers' administrators managed to bring some relief to the stricken club by agreeing wage cuts with the playing staff, which has prevented any redundancies.

The deadline for any potential buyers to launch a bid for the Glasgow-based outfit is tomorrow, with former director Paul Murray leading the way for a consortium takeover.

The hearing regarding the charges will take place on Thursday, March 29.
