Ally McCoist has reportedly tendered his resignation as manager of Scottish Championship side Rangers.
The 52-year-old, who has been in the role since 2011, has seen his position come under pressure in recent weeks after a series of inconsistent results, and according to Sky Sports News, that appears to have resulted in McCoist offering to leave the Glasgow giants.
Rangers have fallen nine points behind Hearts in the Scottish Championship table, while they were dumped out of the Scottish Challenge Cup by Alloa Athletic.
They did overcome Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup less than two weeks ago but that doesn't appear to have been enough to encourage McCoist to remain at the club.
There is yet to be any official word from Rangers, who are scheduled to face Queen of the South on Friday night.
