Reading striker Adam Le Fondre says that he wants to be a regular starter for the club.

Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has said that he is keen to shake off the 'super-sub' label he has picked up due to his recent goalscoring exploits.

Le Fondre picked up the Barclays Player of the Month award for January after scoring five goals off the bench for the Royals.

However, the 26-year-old has hinted that he wants to be a regular starter for Brian McDermott's side.

"I'm as happy as I can be coming off the bench," The Independent quotes Le Fondre as saying.

"Obviously I want to start and the gaffer knows that. I've spoken to him numerous times after I've scored goals that I want to start games, but those five goals from the bench have catapulted me into the 'super sub' tag.

"I don't want to be stuck with that for the rest of my career. I don't want to play 20 minutes in games, I want to play for 90 minutes."

Reading face Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday.
